Automobile Club of Moldova participated in the Republican Workshop “Education, Infrastructure, and Smart Technologies for a Safe Road System”, organized by the National Center for Road Safety Education (within the “Ion Creanga” State Pedagogical University) on July 10, 2026.

The workshop brought together education experts, public officials, and representatives from relevant sector associations. The main aim was to analyze pressing issues and identify viable alternatives to increase safety on public roads.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Anatolie Daicu, Head of the National Center for Road Safety Education, and Mr. Tudor Castravet, Vice-Rector for Scientific Activity at “Ion Creanga” State Pedagogical University. They emphasized the critical importance of inter-institutional partnerships, research, and the educational component in shaping a safe and sustainable transport network.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation by Mrs. Tatiana Mihailova, CEO of the Automobile Club of Moldova (ACM). Tatiana delivered an impactful presentation on “Road Safety: The Role and Involvement of NGOs”.

Her address underscored how the non-profit sector acts as a catalyst between authorities and the community, turning safety policies into concrete educational actions, advocacy, and public awareness, which are essential elements for reducing road risks.

The seminar agenda featured expert presentations focusing on road traffic management, public order, infrastructure, and education. Participants discussed a wide range of strategic topics:

• The influence of human behavior on road traffic safety levels;
• Youth safety;
• Rigorous data analysis of road crashes;
• Modernization of the road network and the use of digital tools in managing traffic flows;
• Effective crisis management and aligning driver-testing criteria with European Union standards.

Specialists from key institutions actively engaged in the discussions, including the Technical University of Moldova, the National Public Safety Inspectorate, the National Road Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the Public Service Agency, the Association of Driving Schools, and the Automobile Club of Moldova.

Part of the materials presented and distributed were developed under the “Youth for Safe Roads” project, implemented by the Automobile Club of Moldova with the support of the National Youth Agency, within the 2026 Annual Grants Program for Youth Organizations, supported by the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova.

Other useful educational materials were developed with the support of FIA, FIA Foundation and EASST.
